What these venues share – aside from bar directors who select the best, most indulgent bottles for their back bars – is history. Either they are long-established institutions welcoming yet another generation of clientele or they are new destinations housed in historic buildings or on famous sites. Yet, each has been redefined, reshaped and revivified through sheer force of youthful creativity. London nightlife currently is international, young, imaginative and fabulously glamorous, and it needs a spirit to match. It seems to have found one in Seventy One gin.
