The Swiss are not generally renowned for their sense of humour, so when it comes to injecting a large dose of fun into luxury watchmaking it’s little surprise that it’s a Brit leading the way. Bamford London, founded by the entrepreneurial and idiosyncratic George Bamford, is no stranger to playful collaborations, and its latest limited-edition timepiece, created in partnership with conceptual retailer Dover Street Market, is no exception.

Here, the muse is everyone’s favourite Beagle, Snoopy, who takes pride of place on the dial. As the hours and minutes tick on, his paws pad their way around the dial. Meanwhile, Snoopy’s faithful sidekick Woodstock accompanies him along the way on the tip of the seconds hand, rendered in a flash of yellow. The hour markers have been made luminous, improving legibility and providing a new look when plunged into darkness.

Complementing the contemporary monochromatic aesthetic is the strap, in black with contrasting white stitching. The material is based on a technical rubber compound combined with cordura, both comfortable and stylish while resistant to tearing and abrasion. Available in just 100 pieces, the watch comes powered by a reliable automatic, Swiss-made Sellita SW330-2 movement.
