When thinking of luxury shopping destinations, they don’t come much chicer than Paris’s storied Place Vendôme, home to some of the world’s finest jewellers and watchmakers. Chaumet has been resident on the square since 1812, first at number 15, now the address of the Ritz Paris hotel, and later at 12, where its grand hôtel particulier stands to this day.

Last February, the jeweller reopened the doors of this flagship following a year-long renovation to mark its 240th birthday. And on the anniversary of this occasion, it is once again celebrating with a fitting tribute to the historic location that is at the heart of the company.

The Infiniment 12 – Rêverie Nocturne is a haute horlogerie masterpiece that exquisitely captures the magic of the Place Vendôme at night. Chaumet has called on the expertise of some of the finest craftspeople to create the intricate scene, bringing together a number of complex and time-intensive decorative skills.

The deep-blue Grand Feu enamel backdrop is the work of master enameller Anita Porchet, finely striated with guilloché rays and speckled with gold, recalling a glimmering, starry sky. Meanwhile, the Parisian landscape has been brought to life with a mixture of techniques, from the delicate mother-of-pearl that denotes the square’s paving stones to the street light and Colonne Vendôme crafted using engraved appliqués. In a charming and whimsical finishing touch, each dial secretly features a tiny stone from 12 Vendôme, allowing the wearer to carry a little piece of history with them wherever they may be.
