Summer time: Hublot Big Bang Unico Summer

Hublot gives its Big Bang Unico a pastel makeover in time for summer

Watches & Jewellery 6 Jul 2021

When it comes to accessories, this season is all about colour, vibrancy and fun. And in particular watchmakers are turning to dreamy pastel hues, bringing to mind idyllic scenes of glistening seas and long, laidback summer days.

Hublot’s latest playful take on its Big Bang Unico sees it get a makeover in eye-catching turquoise, extending from the case and elements of the skeletonised movement right down the strap. This 42mm watch is constructed from lightweight aluminum, which has undergone anodisation to create the striking shade, as well as to protect the case from scratches and wear. A mix of satin and polished finishes adds further allure, as it catches and plays with the light.

At the heart of the watch is Hublot’s in-house HUB1280 calibre, which can be admired both through the dial and the sapphire-crystal caseback. The movement is 6.75mm thick, allowing for a comfortable fit with a case size of just 14.5mm. Meanwhile, its 72-hour power reserve is plenty to get you through a weekend getaway.

Finishing its bold look are two strap options in velcro and natural rubber, both in matching turquoise and able to be easily switched out using Hublot’s ‘one click’ system. Limited to 200 pieces, the watch is initially available on its website, as well as in boutiques in the fittingly sunny Mediterranean destinations of Capri, Forte dei Marmi, Mykonos, Ibiza, Bodrum, Saint-Tropez and Monaco.
