Chanel Coco Crush necklace in 18k yellow gold, £2,300

Floral fancies

The camellia is one of Chanel’s most recognisable motifs, and has blossomed across its accessories, clothing and jewellery since the early 1920s, after Gabrielle Chanel adopted the simple and symmetrical bloom as her favourite flower. This season, the designer’s beloved camellia has been reinterpreted in 18k yellow gold and set with brilliants for a pair of stud earrings – which can be worn as a pair with one in each ear, or together in one ear – plus a necklace that looks beautiful layered with other pieces for an Instagram- worthy ‘neck mess’. Never has the concept of ‘matchy matchy’ seemed so modern. Coco Crush necklace in 18k yellow gold, £2,300; chanel.com

Van Cleef & Arpels’ Zodiaque pendants

Look to the stars

Continuing the astrological jewellery trend, Van Cleef & Arpels’ precious new Zodiaque pendants are an ode to one of the brand’s heritage designs from the 1950s. Available in yellow or rose gold set with ornamental stones, these medallions feature the 12 signs of the Western zodiac rendered in tactile three-dimensional tableaux. For the rose gold collection, expert gemmologists have paired each horoscope with a corresponding coloured gemstone – ‘water’ signs with slivers of turquoise and blue quartz, for example, and ‘earth’ signs with leafy shades of malachite or aventurine. Consider them a new talisman for our post-pandemic era. POA; vancleefarpels.cok

Chain reaction

Inspired by the chain-link fences that traverse New York, Tiffany & Co’s new Knot collection elevates a familiar urban motif into something refined and eminently wearable. Each piece contrasts sinuous loops of 18k yellow or rose gold with the sharp, angular form of a twisted wire motif – edgy yet elegant. Stand-outs include stud earrings, stackable double-wrap bracelets, which each take 22 hours to craft and contain an innovative hidden clasp, and a choker, hand set with over 300 pavé diamonds and reinforced with gold wire. Pomellato earrings, £4,350
Pomellato earrings, £4,350

Street style

Pomellato has long-held associations with Milan’s bohemian Brera district – it was where Pino Rabolini, who hailed from a family of goldsmiths, founded the brand back in 1967. Today, the jeweller’s sleek Brera collection pays homage to this artistic area of town with tactile, whisper- light pieces that typify Pomellato’s exquisite craftsmanship. This season’s slinky rose gold additions to the line are as sophisticated as they are striking, and include modern between-the- finger rings, chandelier earrings and an eye- catching ear cuff, adorned with brown diamonds. Pair with A/W’s trouser suits for the coolest of contrasts. Earrings, £4,350; pomellato.com

Dior Des Vents Medallion necklace, £6,000

Lucky charms

Christian Dior’s childhood home in Normandy, ‘Villa Les Rhumbs’, was built by a ship owner in the late 19th century and named after the mariner’s term for a wind rose. The symbol was transformed in 2015 by Victoire de Castellane, Dior’s creative director of jewellery, into a fine collection with an eight-pointed motif, inspired by the couturier’s love of travel and his obsession with stars. For AW21, the Roses Des Vents line is as pretty and as playful as ever, as these delicate mother-of-pearl, ornamental stone, yellow gold and diamond pieces can attest. Use them to bring a dash of adventurous flair to any outfit. Roses Des Vents Medallion necklace, £6,000; dior.com

Chaumet rose gold and diamond bracelet, £26,600

Oh, bee-hive

Traditionally a symbol of immortality and resurrection, the bee has been important to Chaumet since its early days as official jeweller to Napoléon. Now, in a loving nod to the bee’s honeycomb, the Parisian house has launched a new line of yellow, white and rose-gold jewellery called Bee My Love, embellished with a host of hexagonally cut diamonds, each with 88 facets to maximise light reflection. Expect drop earrings, articulated bracelets, Y-shaped necklaces, and a modern take on the solitaire ring, featuring three hexagonal diamonds set in a row – classically beautiful with a contemporary twist. Tough luxe

Following the huge success of Cartier’s punky Clash de Cartier, which launched in 2019, the luxury jeweller’s latest Clash XL collection turns up the volume with souped-up studs, onyx beads and conical spikes, created in rose gold. The range was unveiled in one of Berlin’s most cutting-edge art institutes, the Boros Collection, and includes a fierce take on the chunky gold necklace, and a spiky new Clash bangle with a row of mobile onyx beads set on the inside. Both would look just as stylish paired with a little black dress as they would with a T-shirt and cut-off jeans. Clash de Cartier onyx and rose gold Clash bracelet, price on request; cartier.com
