Nomos Glashütte has supported Doctors Without Borders for eight years, producing more than 8,000 limited-edition watches during that time to raise funds for its critical work. In current times, this long-running partnership is more important than ever, as the Nobel Prize-winning organisation carries out essential work on the front-line of healthcare around the world.
For this year, the German watchmaker is presenting two special versions of its popular Ahoi, each limited to 250 pieces and with €250 from the sale of each watch going directly to providing emergency aid. These Doctors Without Borders timepieces are indicated by the red ’12’ on the dial, in a subtle nod to the colour of the organisation’s logo.
The Ahoi is Nomos Glashütte’s uniquely minimalist take on a dive watch, here presented in versions with and without a date function. The sporty piece is waterproof to 200 metres, thanks to its screw-down crown, crown guard and securely fitted caseback. For the first time, the Ahoi comes on the chic new stainless steel Sport bracelet, while like all Nomos Glashütte watches is powered by its accomplished in-house movements.
