The Beaumont hotel in Mayfair is one of the most elegant in London, a masterpiece of Art Deco magnificence, especially since it was sensitively refurbished in 2021.

One of the last parts of the hotel to reopen following the revitalisation is the hotel’s boutique spa. At the beginning of 2022 the hotel reopened the spa’s doors, welcoming visitors and guests back to its marble and mosaic walls. The spa continues the Deco aesthetic of the rest of the hotel and feels like stepping back into the most glamorous New York celebrity spa of the 1920s. The spa’s design is inspired by London’s RAC Club as well as the original YMCA of New York and this combination of urban cool, tradition and classic indulgence are apparent in every detail.

The glamorous Art Deco spa at The Beaumont Hotel, Mayfair includes a heated hammam table and, right, plunge pool and sauna

The spa features cosy and luxurious changing rooms, a truly irresistible marble-surrounded plunge pool, relaxation room, spacious steam room and sauna, and four treatment rooms. The real pièce de résistance is the heated hammam table, which is the home of the spa’s signature hammam treatments. On the hammam table guests can be scrubbed and soaked to divine effect, resulting in the softest and sweetest-smelling skin and ultimate feelings of relaxed indulgence. The Beaumont is known for its friendly, personable and welcoming staff and the spa is no different; the hammam therapist hailed from Morocco and offered an entirely comforting, lively and fun experience which started with a liberal application of black soap and was followed by an exfoliating scrub, Dead Sea mud mask and an application of soothing shea butter. All products are from the wonderful French brand La Sultane de Saba and smell absolutely incredible. Hammam treatments can be combined with a massage, or with a full body and scalp or facial massage for the full Beaumont Hammam Experience. Or book in for The Beaumont Retreat that combines a hammam with a massage and mini facial, followed by afternoon tea.

Other spa highlights include the new EYEconic Facial, developed by Dr Maryam Zamani, a global leading aesthetic doctor and oculoplastic surgeon, that involves a gentle hydrating massage around the eye area to diminish dark circles and puffiness. Facials are carried out using expert clean skincare brand Oskia and hair and grooming treatments are made in partnership with legendary colourist Jérémy Perrin.

The spa is a discreet and lovely wellness space – especially for anyone craving the restorative energy of a hammam. It’s a truly relaxing haven that leaves guests feeling pampered, cared for and with a sprinkling of 1920s starlet glamour.

The facilities are free to use for hotel guests and are included in the price of a treatment booked at the spa. The Signature Hammam Treatment is £90 for 45 minutes. thebeaumont.com
