Serengeti has spent 140 years perfecting the art of making technically brilliant, expertly crafted and boldly stylish sunglasses. The brand’s new collection for spring/summer 2022 is no different, with a range of gorgeous sunglasses that will keep you looking sharp.

Serengeti’s Creator Capsule line for SS22 is made up of glasses that are unique and creative, the choice for those looking to stand out. The Hayworth nods to the glamour of Hollywood’s golden era and one of the world’s most beautiful women but the large, square frames with glinting metal eye-rim make them a decidedly contemporary style. The Nicholson also pays homage to the silver screen with extended rectangular frames and bevelled edges: these frames exude American road-trip cool.

The Driving Heritage Capsule Collection is a celebration of the driving culture that has been at the centre of the Serengeti brand since its inception in a range of frames that reference and restyle its classic driving designs. Suited to their name, the Bacall evokes classic glamour with oversized round oval frames. The Carroll classic square aviators speak to a rock ’n’ roll road trip aesthetic and have adjustable nose pads and temple tips to make sure they stay on all summer. The Haywood provides a curved alternative aviator with a single nose bridge that grants stripped-back elegance.

The SS22 Serengeti Sport collection includes sunglasses made for action on the road and in the sun and snow. These include the handsome stainless-steel Aitkin aviators; Odell aviators with ultra-light Saturn lenses; the chic, modern round Brawley frames; and the classic Chandler frames.

All Serengeti sunglass frames are made to the highest standards in Italy. New to Serengeti are eco-friendly acetate frames made from cotton or plant sources, the cultivation of which are 100% FSC certified. Serengeti lenses are made to provide the highest levels of eye protection as well as the best possible vision by using photochromic technology to adapt to the light; Spectral Control technology to manage light wavelengths and refine what passes through the lens so the world appears more colourful and vivid while letting your eyes relax; and polarisation technology so glare is limited, and the wearer can see more clearly.

To capture the embrace of summer and the artistry behind Serengeti’s new collection, the brand collaborated with photographers Marlyne and Patrick Curtet to shoot and film a campaign, Chase the Light. The resulting film and images are inspired by the ideas of American freedom and adventure, and the people who seek them out. The photographers said: ‘We grew up in a time when the United States was synonymous with freedom, space, adventure. We have added culture, nonconformity and uncompromising artistry and aesthetics. The Serengeti campaign is totally in line with our vision. Light drives our creativity, our schedule. We do not pursue the light; we live with it.’
