Sir Jim Ratcliffes passion project, INEOS Automotive, made headlines early last year with the launch of the highly anticipated INEOS Grenadier 4×4 – and the company hasnt exactly been resting on its laurels since.

At the end of 2023, the latest INEOS model, the Grenadier Quartermaster, began rolling off the company production line in Hambach, France. Clients in Europe were the first to receive the double-cab pickup truck, with shipments to Asia Pacific, sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East taking place in December. The first models in the United States and Canada will be available early this year.

The INEOS Quartermaster is the second model for the company, and described as another extremely exciting and important milestoneby INEOS Automotive CEO Lynn Calder. Unveiled at last years Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Grenadier Quartermaster model was developed in tandem with the Grenadier Station Wagon and is engineered to deliver the same uncompromising off-road capability and dependability… but with greater load-carrying versatility.

This workhouse truck is designed for off-road driving in the most challenging terrains, such as the Australian outback, where INEOS has established a flourishing fanbase and its fourth largest market. Named after the senior British army office responsible for the supply and distribution of provisions, the Quartermaster (which seats five people), can tow up to 3,500kg and has an enormous load bay that can accommodate a whopping 760kg. The multi-purpose 4×4 is powered by a choice of BMW 3.0-litre turbo-charged inline six-cylinder petrol or diesel engine.

As part of the rigorous vehicle sign-off process, the Quartermaster prototype was driven across Spain and the African bush by Lynn Calder to test its performance and off-road capabilities. She concluded:Its a great addition to our model line-up.As for whats next for INEOS Automotive, its anyones guess – though Brummell imagines we wont have to wait long to find out.
