With an ode to the city of Miami, his second home, David Beckham has designed his first tailored supercar partnering with the iconic house of the Trident.

As recently appointed Maserati global brand ambassador, there was no doubt that the England soccer legend and style icon would go for Maserati’s top-of-the-range MC20 supercar when invited to create an exclusively customised motor.

Epitomising sportiness and high performance, the MC20 Fuoriserie Edition for David Beckham is the next level of automotive bespoke luxury. Inspired by the “Corse” style, the SuperSport car features a carbon-fibre monocoque and a roaring Nettuno V6 engine. Who needs a single-seater to feel like an F1 pilot?

The prestigious Italian marque has always encouraged customers to express their creative flair through Fuoriserie, a customisation program that allows them to create a tailor-made one-off Maserati. If there’s one thing Italians understand, it’s how to create unique personal style.

Joining forces with the Maserati Centro Stile in Modena, Beckham opted for an electrifying yet sleek aesthetic to portray the magic spirit of Miami, his second home. Think pink neon lights on a bustling night in Ocean Drive or the rosy sky at sunset on South Beach.

Juxtaposing glossy and matte black surfaces, the chromatic palette pays homage to the Inter Miami uniforms of the former England captain’s Major League Soccer team. A pastel pink hue brightens the MC20 badge on the door and the Brembo brake callipers. Elsewhere, contrasting with the shiny bodywork, the Trident logos stand out on the grille and the C-pillar with an opaque touch.

‘Cars are about individual taste whether it’s the model, colour or small personal details on the inside,’ says Beckham. And Maserati is certainly used to celebrating this idea. As Klause Busse, head of Maserati Design says, the mission of this famous Italian marque is ‘to offer a holistic experience’ to the customer through special made-to-order programmes. With this latest vehicle, Maserati has undoubtedly achieved that goal.
