Xavier Rolet and his wife Nicole Rolet have taken Chêne Bleu from derelict medieval priory to state-of-the art winery in the last 20 years.
Using sustainable, organic and biodynamic winemaking practices, The Chêne Bleu SustainaBEElity Fund is a crowdfunding initiative comprising six packages, ranging in price from €200 to €15,000, via WineFunding. Some packages enable partners to spend time on the estate with Xavier, an expert beekeeper, learning about beekeeping, and sponsor one of the estate’s beehives.
One objective of the fund is to help extend the apiary, as the propolis produced by bees is used as an antiseptic treatment for the vines.
