Angelina's incredible home delivery
Angelina's eight-course tasting menu is just as special eaten at home

The background

Angelina is the Italian-Japanese restaurant in Dalston that serves exciting tasting menus crafted from the finest ingredients. The restaurant has been innovative from the start of the first lockdown in getting its food out to hungry Londoners. At first it was grocery boxes of Italian and Japanese ingredients but now Angelina is delivering its signature menu to homes across the capital.

The meal

Angelina delivers an eight-course tasting menu crafted to be as similar as possible to the menu served in the restaurant but tweaked to make it better suited for travel. The menu comes ready to eat but arrives in packaging that can easily be reheated in the microwave or oven. Angelina’s menu starts with a trio of incredible snacks: sourdough focaccia with tuna or veg nduja, mozzarella with anchovy in carrozza and chawanmushi with ikura. To follow, there is a tingling blood orange and bottarga salad with pistachio and then a rich and perfectly balanced sea bass with truffle and daikon. Next there’s a comforting and moreish fregola with buristo, mussels and scallop, then irresistible soy-braised osso buco with soft polenta. Then to finish, there’s a punchy and perfect chocolate, matcha and wasabi crème. At the moment Angelina is unable to cater to different dietary requirements for the most part, but it’s worth asking to see what they can do. The menu feels incredibly special and well thought out and really delivers the finest cuisine to your kitchen table. You can also add on cocktails, wine, karaage chicken, an add-on deluxe box including cocktails, seafood and a cheese platter, and even a morning-after breakfast box for two.
