While all rooms offer sumptuous magnificence, the enormous feature rooms and suites are the ones to book for a real escape from the norm. One of the finest is perhaps the Patricia Portman room, which has a beautiful view of Home House’s well-appointed garden as well as beautiful original Chinese Chi’en Lung paper, featuring hand-painted nature scenes on a rich blue background.

You could happily while away an evening or two relaxing in your bedroom but when there’s three townhouses of fun to explore, that would seem a shame. There are many tempting options for places to dine but while the weather is still good, The Garden Restaurant is possibly the most fun. Home House has set up a marquee to cover the outdoor terrace, which, along with heat lamps and blankets, makes it an inviting place to enjoy the delicious bistro classics and, at the weekend, perfectly grilled meat, fish and seafood from the barbecue.

After dinner, you might want to climb the exquisite curved staircase and glimpse the stars through beautiful cupola that crowns the grand central hallway before retiring to the relaxed Drawing Rooms at the heart of the club. Or you could head to the modern party den of House 21 that was recently redesigned by the inimitable Russell Sage Studio and features a collection of fun bars and lounges.

After a night sipping Home House’s fantastic cocktails, the perfect way to start the day is ordering breakfast in bed – or heading back outside to The Garden Restaurant for some fresh air with your eggs benedict. Being so central, Home House is the ideal base to then explore London and discover things about your home city that a busy schedule or crowds of tourists might have prevented you from seeing before.
