Steve McQueen served in the US Marine Corps as Private first class from 1947-1950, and his relationship with British brand Barbour began in East Germany in 1964, when he wore one of the brand’s iconic wax jackets to compete in the International Six-Day Trial.
Barbour launched its first Steve McQueen line in 2011, and, to celebrate the icon’s birthday on 24th March, hero pieces in the SS18 Barbour International x Steve McQueen range take inspiration from his career in the marines, with jackets mixing military shapes with Barbour waxes, quilts and soft washed cottons.
