Back in 1935, Panerai designed watches for the Italian Navy, establishing the brand’s connection to the sea and exploration. This lives on today through three new watches from the Submersible Collection that reference the American Navy SEALs (SEa, Air and Land) special operations forces.

Over the years, Panerai has advanced its technology and design to create the most versatile watches for adventurers. The Submersible GMT Navy SEALs and the Submersible GMT Carbotech Navy SEALs timepieces are powered by automatic mechanical movements. The clockfaces are equipped with a central hour and minute hand, a seconds dial, the date and a GMT display of a second time zone. The watches also have a three-day power reserve and are waterproof to 300 metres, perfect for underwater timekeeping.

Submersible GMT Navy Seals (PAM01323), $10,100

Each watch has its own unique aesthetic. The Submersible GMT Navy SEALs model has a brushed steel case and rotating bezel, with a degradé anthracite dial with luminous hour markers and dots, while the Carbotech version has a case, bezel and dial in black, also with luminous hour markers and dots. The words “Navy SEALS” and “Panerai Submersible” are clearly displayed on the clockfaces to celebrate this new and exciting collaboration. The designs draw further inspiration from the US Navy with the seconds sub-dial in the shape of a target and two straps: one made from black rubber and one from bi-material with a black and grey camouflage pattern traditionally worn by the elite military forces. The Submersible Navy SEALs Carbotech is limited to just 162 pieces, honouring the year the SEALs were founded: 1962.

The third new model is the Submersible Navy SEALs Experience edition, with a flyback function that enables the chronograph to reset with just one press and the Time to Target countdown, indicating the time until a specified rendezvous. This special edition has titanium with DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating case and a black dial with luminous hour markers and dots. As with the other two watches, the accents are in yellow and gold.

Submersible GMT Carbotech™ Navy Seals (PAM01324), $20,800
