Tag Heuer enhances its distinctive Monaco line with three stylish new timepieces

Few watches are as instantly recognisable as Tag Heuer’s Monaco, defined by its distinctive square-shaped case and counters, alongside its charming retro flair. Last year, the watchmaker marked its 50th birthday in style, and for 2020 it continues the celebrations with a trio of new additions to the family that combine high-end, contemporary timekeeping with the model’s unmistakeable style.

These come in the form of two blue- and black-dialled models, the latter of which is also available on a black leather strap. Otherwise they come on a stainless-steel bracelet, notable because it has been almost two decades since a new Monaco was presented on a metal strap. The bracelet draws inspiration from the H-shaped design seen on early Monaco’s from the 1970s, but featuring several enhancements to ensure optimal comfort and security. These include wider lugs to better carry the weight of the watch head, while it tapers around the wrist for ease of wear.

The new watches are also powered by one of the watchmaker’s best examples of precision timekeeping, the Calibre Heuer 02. This accomplished in-house movement offers an impressive power reserve of 80 hours, and can be seen in action through the sapphire crystal case back.
