The watchmaker launches a slimmed-down take on its popular sports-chic watch with the help of its new squad of boundary-pushing women
Earlier this year saw Breitling revive one of its best-loved watches from the 1980s, the Chronomat. Defined by its distinctive sporty-yet-elegant style, this contemporary take retained all the elements that made the original a hit, from its interchangeable rider tabs to the signature stainless-steel integrated Rouleaux bracelet. Now, the watchmaker is expanding the family with two new smaller models designed to meet the demands of the modern woman.
They include a 36mm model equipped with the precise Breitling Calibre 10, while the smaller 32mm is powered by the brand’s innovative SuperQuartz movement, providing ten times the accuracy of traditional quartz. Further adding to the versatility of the collection is the number of options available to suit every look and lifestyle. Both come in an array of metal cases, ranging from casual stainless steel to luxe bi-colour and and red-gold versions. The 36 is presented in ten differently-hued dials, including contemporary shades of pale green and copper, while the 32 has a choice of seven, including classics such as white and midnight blue. You can even add an extra touch of glamour with a diamond-set bezel and indexes.
To celebrate its launch, it has enlisted the help of its new Spotlight Squad, part of its ongoing #SquadOnAMission concept that brings together leaders in their field. This latest group comprises actresses Charlize Theron and Yao Chen, alongside trailblazing ballet star Misty Copeland. The trio has been selected not only based on their incredible accomplishments in their professional careers, but their dedication and passion for inspiring change in the world, a mission close to Breitling’s heart.
