Wardian London and Women of Brummell celebrate the launch of the 53rd floor Observatory
Brummell magazine was delighted to invite an exclusive selection of its Women of Brummell network to celebrate the launch of Wardian London’s spectacular 53rd floor Observatory on 10th June, before the space is officially handed over to residents.
With its remarkable 360-degree views of London, The Wardian Observatory was an enchanting setting to host the first Brummell event post-lockdown, and guests enjoyed a sparkling champagne reception on arrival, along with refreshing cocktails and delicious canapés made by Michelin-starred chef Alyn Williams.
Wardian London
Wardian London is a residential neighbourhood that champions botanically-inspired living, with an exceptional waterside location on the Isle of Dogs, immediately south of Canary Wharf.
In order to educate guests on the unique biophilic design focus of the building, and to enable them to learn about the benefits of harmonising man-made design with the natural world, an inspiring expert panel discussion was held on connecting to nature and modern city living.

The thought-provoking panel conversation was hosted by property and finance writer and commentator Anne Ashworth, with panellists Glenn Howells, expert in urban design and founder of Glenn Howells Architects, designer of the Wardian development; Matt Morley, adviser on wellbeing and sustainability to Wardian and for the real estate, hotel, gym and yachting sectors; and Darren Henderson, co-founder of the Botanical Boys, who as well as opening a shop on the Wardian site, are bringing their plant skills to Wardian’s green spaces. Each panellist offered an insightful perspective on their individual involvement with the Wardian development, and each explained how their expertise has helped to shape the innovative design of the building, and indeed the future of urban living.

Guests were then invited on a tour of the Wardian London show apartments, where they explored the sumptuous interior design by Jaki Amos, co-founder of design studio Amos & Amos.
Wardian has been developed by Ecoworld Ballymore – a joint venture formed of Eco World International Berhad, an international property developer with presence in the United Kingdom and Australia, and Ballymore, which has more than 20 years’ experience in the London property market. The two companies share the vision of creating some of London’s most exciting and innovative residential developments, and their partnership represents a careful balance of investment in some of the most important waterside development projects in London.
As a dramatic sunset brought the evening to a close, guests were able to truly appreciate nature at its very best – both inside the Wardian building, and outside of it.
