Bale Sekulceska, showroom manager at David M Robinson, shares her expert advice on why your next timepiece should be an IWC
How would you describe IWC in a sentence?
A passion for watchmaking and perfect craftsmanship, IWC Schaffhausen combines precision engineering with exclusive design to produce finely crafted watches that last for generations.
What makes an IWC a great watch purchase?
IWC timepieces are elegant, timeless and easy to wear, with all watch cases produced in-house and with a size suitable for every wrist. The watch comes with a two-year guarantee, however once registered with IWC this will be extended by a further six years giving the client an eight-year guarantee. IWC is passionate and committed to protecting the environment, and it aims to have a positive social and environmental impact by investing in communities locally and globally. Its six watch families combine precision engineering with timeless design and ethically sourced materials, bringing the finest technology and elegance to your wrist.
For those unfamiliar with IWC, what are some of its most important models?
The Pilot’s Watch, Portofino and Portugieser are the most iconic collections for IWC.

IWC Big Pilot’s Reference IW329303
Is there a particular model that would make a great investment piece?
Laureus Sport for Good Foundation pieces are limited in production. The foundation was established in 2000 by Richemont and Daimler, with IWC becoming a partner in 2005. It brings together people who share a belief in the power of sport to break down barriers, engage with others and change the world for the better. Laureus believes in the integrative force of sport, harnessing it to advance social change and provide better prospects for disadvantaged children and teenagers.
Do you have a personal favourite from IWC?
My favourite watch has to be the IWC Portugieser Minute Repeater, with an IWC manufactured movement with a 46-hour power reserve with an incredible exhibition caseback to showcase the 402 components.
What can a customer expect of the purchasing process through David M Robinson?
We aim to ensure that everyone who visits our showroom has a wonderful experience and many of our clients become friends of our showroom, building a relationship with the team and visiting us for special occasions and milestones throughout life.

IWC Portugieser Reference IW371604
What are your current personal recommendations from IWC?
The Portugieser has stood for classic elegance and sophistication since 1939. It is a style icon that is available in seven variations. Two Portuguese businessmen operating in the watch industry visited the IWC headquarters in Schaffhausen proposing the development of a large steel wristwatch with the precision of a pocket watch. The Reference IW371604 with IWC manufactured movement, 41mm case size and exhibition sapphire caseback is a fantastic model and an icon for IWC since 1998.
IWC has been producing Pilot’s Watches since 1936, and it was the first men’s wristwatch in IWC’s collections. The original Pilot’s Watches had particularly large crowns that were easy to grip so they could be set, wound, and adjusted by pilots wearing thick gloves. The Reference IW329303 features a striking blue dial and superb movement technology, and is available in different strap variations. Perfectly versatile to wear to the office or for a more casual look at weekends.
