Zenith unveils two feminine new takes on its Zenith Chronomaster Original at its DreamHers event
Since its beginnings in 1865, Zenith has been at the cutting-edge of horology, providing precision timekeeping for some of history’s great pioneers along the way. And with its DreamHers campaign, established last year, it continues this legacy, bringing together visionary and inspirational women from all walks of life to share their experiences with like-minded individuals.
It was at the latest of these events that it revealed a new duo of Chronomaster Original timepieces, combining Zenith’s innovative spirit and distinctive aesthetic with a contemporary, feminine design. The watches are an identical shape and size to the original models in the line, measuring in at a comfortable, unisex, 38mm and maintaining its clean, bezel-less silhouette. A touch of glamour has instead been subtly incorporated into the lugs, adorned with 56 brilliant-white diamonds, as well as a further nine of the precious stones used for the hour markers.
The two new models each have their own distinct identity. One plays with shades of taupe across the signature tri-colour counters, paired with a matching calfskin leather strap for a vintage feel. The second, in eye-catching hues of blue, is a slightly more exuberant take versatile enough for both everyday wear and special occasions. Its gradients of colour are achieved through two shades of blue mother-of-pearl for the chronograph counter and grey for the constant seconds, on a backdrop of radiant white mother-of-pearl.
Beyond the luxe exterior there’s some serious watchmaking powering these timepieces in the form of the latest generation of Zenith’s famous and ultra-precise movement. The El Primero 3600 beats at a high frequency of 5Hz (36,000VpH), offering a 1/10th of a second chronograph as well as a sizable power reserve of 60 hours.
