Piaget updates it popular Polo family with an array of glamorous new models in 36mm
Launched in 1979, the Polo is a sports watch seen through Yves G Piaget’s refined eye. It encapsulated the glamour of the time while staying true to the watchmaker’s sophisticated roots, with a certain relaxed elegance that would resonate with the era’s jet set and cultural icons, from Andy Warhol to Roger Moore.
Its curvaceous design, blending a round bezel within a cushion-shaped case, has continued to evolve throughout the decades to meet changing tastes and demands. The latest additions, an array of new watches in a comfortable 36mm size, demonstrate the sheer versatility of the Polo that has made it such a mainstay in Piaget’s collections. Each bears the hallmarks of the popular original, with a svelte silhouette thanks to the slim self-winding Calibre 501P.
Towards the more understated end is a stainless steel model with matching metal bracelet and a stunning blue dial subtly accented with diamond-set gold indexes. This is dialled up a notch with a white-dialled version offering an extra sparkle across the bezel. Adding an extra luxe note is a duo in rose gold, each with a snow-white dial and diamond bezel, presented on a matching metal bracelet or dressy slate-gray alligator strap. The true showstoppers come in the form of two fully-paved timepieces, which come with the option of a dark-blue alligator strap or a dazzling fully paved diamond bracelet in a stunning showcase of Piaget’s gem-setting expertise.
