Time for change

Xupes, the British-based specialist in luxury pre-owned rare watches, has announced its integration with the leading online marketplace for luxury watches, Chrono24.

After a successful first year of partnership, the partners say remodelling of the venture will help to further advance the client-customer experience. The servicing business will rebrand to be “The Watch Atelier” and the handbags, jewellery and accessories will remain trading as Xupes. Both will remain standalone businesses.

As part of their integration strategy, the two companies have selected an impressive Grade II-listed barn to house the Chrono24 UK business, featuring client experience spaces based upon the DNA Xupes has created in the pre-owned market. Xupes is committed to providing an industry-leading customer experience. The new barn has been open since September and gives clients personal service within a spacious environment that includes a library, bar, lounge and rooms designed by Soho Home, the sister brand of the renowned private member’s club Soho House.

CEO of Xupes Joe McKenzie has allocated space in the barn specifically for content creation, including videography and photography studios. He was inspired to do this in lockdown, during which the company witnessed rapid changes in customer interaction, with an increasing volume of business conducted online. The new company strives to be forward-thinking and this dedicated space for video and social content allows it to express its passion for watches in new and creative ways, resulting in stories that can reach a wider audience. The barn also provides services such as safe-keeping, maintenance and valuation of luxury watches.

A range of exciting events are to be held regularly by Chrono24 at the barn, allowing watch lovers and buyers to connect with each other, thus establishing a genuine sense of community.

This month, Brummell took a tour of @60curzon, a prestigious new luxury apartment block in the heart of Mayfair.

Not only is 60 Curzon located in one of the finest postcodes in the capital, but the building itself is a celebrated piece of architecture as the only European residential building designed by the late, great Thierry Despont.

And long before 60 Curzon took shape, it was home to the storied Mirabelle restaurant, which entertained the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Winston Churchill back in the day.

This culinary legacy is set to continue with the exciting news that 60 Curzon will welcome Korean restaurant Kiji in 2026 – which is set to be one of the biggest openings in London next year.
