The watchmaker ramps up its support of the arts during these critical times with a series of world-leading classical concerts, available for free streaming around the globe

Rolex has long been a patron of the arts and focused on fostering creative talent, and, as an industry hit even harder than most during the Covid-19 crisis, this support is more important than ever. With this in mind, the watchmaker has launched a new initiative that is not only showcasing the work of artists, but also sharing the incredible gift of their music with the world.

Starting on 21 August, Rolex will host three ‘Perpetual Music’ concerts in Italy, Germany and France. Each will be available for free streaming via the medici.tv platform until the end of October, potentially reaching hundreds of thousands of people in more than 180 countries. The concerts will be hosted by four talented Rolex Testimonees, who each represent outstanding achievements in their field, and who have worked with fellow musicians to put together a captivating program of events, with approximately 100 artists taking part.

Peruvian opera star Juan Diego Flórez will lead proceedings at the Teatro Rossini in Pesaro on Friday 21 August, while renowned soprano Sonya Yoncheva has put together a stellar line up for a recital programme performing at the Berlin Staatsoper on Tuesday 1 September. Events will be rounded off in style with a final show at the grand Opéra National de Paris on Thursday 3 September, featuring a repertoire of baroque and chamber music presented by renowned French violinist Renaud Capuçon, Rolando Villazón, one of the world’s most critically acclaimed tenors, and the artistic director of the Mozartwoche Salzburg.
