The quintessential Japanese brew gets a modern makeover with KAY Sake

Discover a crisp, low-alcohol Japanese sake brewed in Niigata with centuries of craftsmanship and a designer bottle

KAY Sake is offering a contemporary take on traditional sake this summer. The Japanese sake has been crafted from the Niigata region’s finest premium rice, free from any additives and perfect for those seeking a healthier alternative to other serves and spirits.

Brewed at the historic Aumont Sake Brewery, which was founded in the 1790s and is now overseen by renowned master brewer Tanaka-Toji, each bottle reflects centuries of expertise. Recently awarded Gold at the 2024 Milano Sake Challenge, KAY is fast becoming a go-to for those seeking lighter, low-alcohol options.

The taste is light, crisp and smooth, with creamy tones and fragrant notes of green apple, melon and pear. It’s designed to be served chilled, neat or as a base for easy-drinking cocktails such as the KAY Japanese martini or KAY spritzer.

The bottle has also turned heads. Designed by acclaimed Dutch designer Marcel Wanders – known for his work with Fendi, Alessi and Baccarat – it takes inspiration from the Kaji River and the purity of Echigo’s waters. The result is sleek and minimal, and bottles are already stocked behind the bar at top London venues including Kwãnt Mayfair, Tayēr + Elementary and Archive & Myth.
