Zenith presents its latest take on this high-precision chronograph in red gold
Zenith’s chronographs have always successfully managed that fine balance of sporty and sophisticated. Its Chronomaster Sport, unveiled earlier this year, is a case in point, bringing the top performance of its ultra-precise El Primero movement in a stylish package as suited to everyday wear as it is for special occasions.
The latest addition to the line errs slightly more towards the latter, presenting a chic update to the line with touches of red gold. The addition of this more luxurious material is a nod back to iconic chronograph references such as the G381 and G581, bringing an elegant edge to this heritage-influenced design.
The red gold extends from the 41mm case to the pump-style pushers, contrasted with a polished black ceramic bezel that is filled with complementary matte-gold lacquer to indicate the 1/10th scale. The dial meanwhile, features Zenith’s signature tri-colour chronograph in shades of rhodium, anthracite and blue, just like the original El Primero A386 from the 1960s. And just like this first model, it comes powered by the watchmaker’s innovative high-precision timekeeping, here in the form of the El Primero 3600 calibre, beating at an impressive 36,000vph and offering a 60-hour power reserve.
