Belstaff launches three limited-edition designs to marks its 75th anniversary

The word “icon” is bandied around lightly when it comes to clothing, but the Belstaff Trialmaster is worthy of the title – especially as it’s now turning a respectable 75. The stylish waxed-cotton jacket was originally made in 1948 to withstand the harsh conditions of the Scottish Six Days Trial motorcycle endurance event. The classic design, with its four-pocket front and belted neck and waist creates a neat, nipped-in silhouette that has remained largely unchanged. Having said that, to mark this year’s anniversary, Belstaff has launched three new limited-edition designs, including one that pays sartorial homage to the original 1948 creation and a forward-thinking “Concept” model, featuring a new outer shell made from water-repellent taffeta. £895;
