Nomos Glashütte’s signature square timepiece gets a makeover with bright new hues and an automatic movement

Nomos Glashütte has always been something of a maverick in the watch world, with a contemporary approach that sets it apart from its Swiss counterparts. The Tetra is perhaps the ultimate expression of its edgier point of view, quite literally, making a statement with its sharp, square case shape.

Up until now this model has only been available in manual-wind iterations, available in a range of colours, albeit tending towards more muted tones and dreamy pastel hues. Now, not only is it presented as an automatic, powered by the watchmaker’s trusty and precise DUW 3001 calibre, but in a range of shades including bold and bright options.

This new quartet comes in vibrant red and blue, as well as sophisticated options in black and off-white. The crisp colour is achieved thanks to a technique similar to that of enamel, which reflects lights and lends a depth to the dial.

Despite its angular case, this Tetra’s slender profile makes it a comfortable fit on a variety of wrists. This is in large part down to the slimness of the movement. Flip the watch over to examine the mechanical marvel in detail, right down to the intricate finishing which, of course, includes the signature Glashütte stripe decoration.
