TAG Heuer extends its partnership with Porsche to its Connected family with a special feature-packed smartwatch
With its Connected watch, TAG Heuer has long been at the forefront of smart technology that looks as good as it operates. As it extends its partnership with Porsche into this collection, it’s only natural that the watchmaker has looked to new and innovative ways to integrate the car-owning experience into a new special edition.
First, there is its eye-catching ice blue and black colour scheme, inspired by the equally pioneering electric sports car, the Porsche Taycan. This is seen across the watch’s “hardware”, including the lightweight sandblasted black titanium case, featuring a polished bezel with a scale that goes from 0-400. Not only is this a reference to the car’s speed, it can also be used to read a number of metrics such as heart rate.
It’s this level of detail that makes the piece truly special. Wearers will have access to an exclusive watch face design that similarly takes its cues from its automotive inspiration, echoing the pattern seen on printed circuit boards and racing circuits and presented with an animated visual effect that lends a dynamism to the overall display.
As well as the advanced wellness and fitness features demonstrated by TAG Heuer’s previous Connected timepieces, this particular model comes equipped with some special enhancements for those lucky enough to be in possession of both the watch and the car. These come in the form of additional complications that show information from compatible Porsche models on a hand display on the watch face, allowing you to check everything from the car battery percentage to the total mileage with a quick glance of the wrist.
