Serendipitous serpent: Hublot Big Bang DJ Snake

Hublot’s latest partnership with collaborator DJ Snake reveals a bold timepiece with a big, colourful personality

Guided by its philosophy ‘Be first, different and unique’, Hublot is living the life. Its “Art of Fusion” code has involved many audacious artistic collaborations, including with Ferrari’s design head, and a leading tattooist, in creating its singular Hublot watch design collections. The latest addition to the multi-disciplined partnership crew is electronic music star, DJ Snake. In the last decade he’s worked on hits with Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Kanye West, Lil Jon and more, became the first French artist to have two songs with over a billion Spotify plays, and accumulated a cabinet full of awards. He’s now channelled his creativity into the Big Bang DJ Snake, working with Hublot’s teams to create a timepiece with a big, colourful personality, in a limited edition of just 100.

‘The multifaceted watch design reflects DJ Snake’s talents,’ observes Ricardo Guadalupe, Hublot’s CEO, and it certainly delivers on that score. Iridescent rainbow reflections gleam from the ‘Newton’s rings’ effect on the bezel and the titanium components of the 45mm case.

The bezel boasts cut-outs designed by DJ Snake himself. The sapphire dial’s upper face features a map of the world, in the same colours as the case, representing DJ Snake’s signature, a nod to his travels and global success.

For his part, DJ Snake acknowledges the design is personal: ‘To be able to wear – and offer my fans – a watch which reflects my personality is something that has been important to me since the start of my partnership with Hublot,’ he admits. Maybe he’ll live up to his moniker, shed his skin and deliver a new version, with the help of Hublot, the Snake charmer.
