Piaget continues its on-going connection with the world of Hollywood as the exclusive watch and jewellery partner of film The 355

Watches have long been about more than the functional telling of time; your choice of wristwear is an outward expression of your personality or, indeed, the one you would like to project. And when it comes to dressing actors in films, this ability to change perceptions with a seemingly simple accessory is powerful.

This is something Piaget understands well, having been a watchmaker of choice for Hollywood’s biggest names on and off the big screen for decades. And with the release of new espionage thriller The 355, it continues this on-going connection with the world of cinema, with both its sophisticated horological creations and stunning jewellery taking a starring role.

The film sees long-time friend of the brand, Jessica Chastain, take on the role of a CIA agent who joins forces with a German agent (Diane Kruger), a computer specialist (Lupita Nyong’o), and a Columbian psychologist (Penélope Cruz) to retrieve a weapon from the hands of a mercenary. As this dangerous mission takes this all-star squad around the world, the film’s acclaimed costume designer, Stephanie Collie, curated a wardrobe that expressed the unique aesthetic of each character.

This includes pieces from Piaget’s Possession collection, an expression of the maison’s contemporary and chic style, as well as some of its finest high jewellery collections. And on the watch side, among those making a cameo is its sophisticated men’s model, the Polo, spotted on the wrist of Édgar Ramirez. Meanwhile Sebastian Stan, Jason Flemyng and Cruz each wear versions of the Altiplano, demonstrating the versatility of one of the watchmaker’s most enduring and popular collections.
