TAG Heuer gears up for the Indianapolis 500 race with a limited edition designed with star driver Alexander Rossi
The Indianapolis 500 race is the ultimate expression of TAG Heuer’s “Don’t crack under pressure” motto, a high-octane event that attracts thousands of thrill seekers from across the globe. The watchmaker has been the Official Timekeeper of the NTT Indycar Series for 18 years and, to celebrate the upcoming edition in style, it has released a special take on its Formula 1 watch designed in collaboration with the Indycar team and star driver Alexander Rossi.
Its look is as sporty and daring as you would expect, its sleek black colour scheme punctuated with flashes of red and gold, the latter used to engrave the Indy 500 logo on the bezel. And, like all of TAG Heuer’s racing timepieces, it is more than equipped for timing both on and off the track, its precise chronograph indicated via the three sub counters, with the Indy 500’s famous pagoda structure replicated at 6 o’clock.
The limited-edition run of 500 pieces will be seen on Rossi’s wrist at this year’s race, and as such has been tried and tested to ensure it is fully roadworthy. This includes its ability to withstand shocks, while the water resistance of 200 metres also makes it a reliable all-rounder. What’s more, the metal bracelet can be easily sized to fit over a driving suit, making it the ideal car companion.
