Raise a glass: Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar at Harrods

Moët & Chandon has opened a gilded and glamorous bar in Harrods that is designed for celebrating the very finest expressions of champagne

In perhaps what is London’s most sparkling new opening, Moët & Chandon has launched its largest standalone bar in Europe at Harrods.

Nestled salubriously among the hallowed rooms of Harrods’ beauty halls, the new Moët & Chandon bar is the perfect place to stop off for some mid-shopping refreshment, a glamorous lunch, or an evening glass of champagne, a cocktail and delicious small plates.

The bar will serve a large selection of Moët & Chandon champagnes, among them rare varietals from the Moët & Chandon Legacy Champagne Grand Vintage and Legacy Champagne Rare Limited-Edition Bottle Collections, including the exceedingly rare 1959 Grand Vintage Magnum, worth £4,400. The bar is open to all, with glasses of champagne starting at £16 and bottles of the more accessible and truly delicious Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial NV on offer.

Dishes at the Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar in Harrods include the Choux Love pastry buns with mango and passion fruit diplomat filling, adorned with an M, O, Ë, or T

The striking bar was designed by Sybarite, who has created a sparkling draped canopy made from tens of thousands of gold discs, which hangs elegantly above the bar. Elements of Moët & Chandon’s glittering history are referenced in the white base of the bar that echoes the champagne producer’s caves, and the sinuous shape of the bar references the topography of the brand’s home in Epernay.

Along with champagne, a selection of delicious small plates is on offer at the bar including fresh rock oysters, the Cheese Délice: a burrata stracciatella, spicy kimchi and black sesame toastie, and the signature Choux Love dessert of choux pastry buns with a mango and passion fruit diplomat filling, each of which comes adorned with an M, O, Ë, or T. Each dish is served on a plate complete with a famous quote about champagne to complete the celebration, including Oscar Wilde’s ‘Pleasure without champagne is purely artificial’. With the Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar now open, we couldn’t agree more.

Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar is now open at Harrods, Monday – Saturday: 12pm – 9pm,  Sunday: 12pm – 6pm. Click here to reserve your place.
