The Italian marque unveils a new collaboration with an outerwear expert

Although the automotive and textile industries might not seem very closely related, at the highest level of both is an affinity for advanced engineering and exceptional quality, which is what has brought Maserati and North Sails Apparel together to create a collection of outerwear.

This new collaboration was unveiled last week at Pitti Uomo – a fitting location for the reveal of future-forward men’s clothes. Among them, you’ll find coats decked out in Maserati’s rich yellow colour, as well as classic navy, electric blue and black, and fabrics such as Gore-Tex Infinium and organic and recycled cotton. These garments champion high-performance qualities such as durability, windproofing and breathability – characteristics that have long been familiar to North Sails Apparel, which, if you’re not acquainted, is an offshoot of American sailmaker North Sails. The company has a long-running commitment to enhancing the sustainability credentials of its products, which goes for this new partnership with Maserati, too.

‘Maserati is innovative by nature and is looking ahead to the future,’ commented Maserati CEO Davide Grasso. ‘The partnership with North Sails emphasises the close links between Maserati, dynamic performance, and technological innovation.’

These are, without doubt, the kind of clothes you’d wear to drive out into the countryside (in your Maserati, naturally) and in which you would go for a long walk or, indeed, spend the afternoon sailing. Think: taped seams, tech fabrics, and multi-layered, multi-functional pieces that will be right up your street if you’re an adventurer – or an aspiring one.
