Once in a blue moon: Carl F Bucherer Adamavi Full Calendar

Carl F Bucherer adds a calendar and moon phase complication to its sophisticated Adamavi line

The Adamavi line represents one of the most refined offerings in Carl F Bucherer’s repertoire, combining the fine watchmaking expertise of the independent brand with a pared-back and sophisticated aesthetic. With its latest addition, it introduces a full calendar complication with moon phase into the collection, expressed in a classic timepiece with subtle contemporary touches.

The pleasingly balanced design of the Adamavi Full Calendar showcases the date with a ring of Arabic numerals to which a small hand points, while the day of the week and month are denoted on discreet apertures that sit in the upper portion of the dial. Towards 6 o’clock lies the elegant moon phase indication, which sees a golden moon move across a starry night sky. The date functions can be easily set via the three correctors embedded in the case, while similarly the moon phase is adjustable using the corrector at 8 o’clock. Powering it all is the CFB 1966 automatic movement, which offers a power reserve of 42 hours.

The watch comes in a choice of two sophisticated dial colours, black or silver with a vertical satin finish. Meanwhile, both iterations feature hands and indices in gold, providing a modern and striking contrast to the 39mm stainless-steel case. Each comes with the choice of a complementary alligator strap, or a stainless-steel bracelet for a more casual feel.
