In advance of ceasing the production of its petrol-powered vehicles, Rolls-Royce begins releasing a flurry of special editions

As Rolls-Royce brings down the curtain on its petrol-powered vehicles, we can expect a flurry of “end of the run” special editions. Kicking it off is the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Wraith Black Arrow… and no prizes for guessing that “black” is a central theme to this release. It will be the last V12 Coupe Rolls-Royce will make and that alone makes it significant, never mind the fact that there will only be 12 of these built. The design is inspired by “Thunderbolt”, the twin V12 Rolls-Royce-powered monster that set the world land speed record of 357mph in 1938, driven by Captain George Eyston. This is still the fastest a V12-powered car has ever travelled. Even if a pedant would say it was actually a V24.
