And the first event is a Michelin-starred Japanese chef making his London debut
It’s hard to elevate the omakase experience much higher than Luna Omakase at Los Mochis London City. Quite literally: it’s London’s highest omakase, nudging eighth-floor Endo at the Rotunda into second place when it opened last year on the ninth floor of 100 Liverpool Street.
Just 12 seats are set around a hidden counter within Los Mochis, where executive chef Leonard Tanyag serves a 12-course tasting menu inspired by the phases of the moon. And now, Luna is ascending even further with the launch of its Chef Collective – a new series of collaborations with some of the most exciting contemporary chefs in the world.
First to join the lineup: Michelin-starred chef Taro Noguchi, who will co-create a one-off omakase menu on 22 and 23 July. It marks Noguchi’s first ever service in the UK – and one of the rare times his food has been seen outside Japan.

The chef is best known as the self-taught sushi wizard behind Noguchi, his eponymous restaurant in Osaka, which blends technical rigour with showmanship. His ethos is that fun is the most important element when cooking – so expect smoke, theatre and innovative flavour when he arrives in the capital this month.
He’ll join executive chef Leonard Tanyag behind the counter at Luna to craft a shared tasting menu designed to push both chefs into new territory. With only 36 seats spread across three services, this is about as exclusive as it gets – and designed, as the team puts it, to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
More collaborations are planned as part of the new series. Consider it a mission to bring omakase to new heights – in every sense.
Reservations are now live on OpenTable for all three sittings:
22 July, 8:30pm
23 July, 6:30pm and 8:30pm
