Mercedes Benz has snatched the crown for fastest SUV around the ring at the Nürburgring
A motoring month doesn’t seem to go by without a new lap record at the Nürburgring, but this one is a big one. Mercedes has snatched the ‘fastest SUV around the ring’ crown from the Alfa Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Driven by staff development engineer, and clearly quick pedaler Markus Hofbauer, the AMG GLC 63S completed the 12.9 mile track of the Nordschleife in seven minutes 49.369 seconds, over two seconds quicker than the Alfa. A new benchmark for the big 4x4s, but one that may not last for long with the lunatic Lamborghini Urus lurking in the background.
