Breitling begins a new partnership with Six Nations Rugby in style by assembling a squad of the sport’s top players
Breitling’s timepieces are among some of the most rugged on the market, a point which the watchmaker has proven time and again through its partnerships and by assembling its all-star “squads” to put them through their paces. Comprising leading names in their field, whether surfers, triathletes or explorers, they demonstrate beyond doubt that the watches can survive the most extreme of pursuits and challenging terrains.
And when it comes to tough sports, there’s few as physically and mentally demanding as rugby. It makes it a well-suited match for the watchmaker, which has just announced a new partnership with Six Nations Rugby. It sees it become the Official Timing Partner of the Guinness Six Nations, the Women’s Six Nations, the Autumn Nations Series, and the 2023 RWC warm-up matches, with the first match of this season kicking off on 5 February.
And, of course, as part of its new foray into the sport it has put together its own team of some of rugby’s biggest names as ambassadors. Hailing from all six nations, counted among them are Stuart Hogg, captain of the Scottish national team, England’s Kyle Sinckler, George North of Wales and Ireland’s Conor Murray, as well as Welsh former international rugby union captain and television presenter Sam Warburton.
