Hollywood Authentic’s new silk sleepwear collection

The film magazine, led by acclaimed movie photographer Greg Williams, has released a luxurious collection of sleepwear inspired by one of movie history’s most iconic sartorial motifs

Luxury film magazine Hollywood Authentic is bringing a touch of silver-screen glamour to our wardrobe by launching a range of sleepwear inspired by the most scene-stealing sartorial motif in the pictures: the silk gown.

Take the women’s garments, which include long, sensual slips in oyster or black, matching silk gowns that flow in elegant drapes to the floor and pyjama sets featuring tailored details such as cuffs and pockets. These all bestow a contemporary charm to items of quintessential vintage glamour, recalling portrayals of elegant characters such as Lauren Bacall’s in The Big Sleep, Michelle Pfeiffer’s in Scarface and Elizabeth Taylor’s in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Its sleepwear is 100 per cent pure silk, made by hand and embroidered in the UK.

The men’s collection, meanwhile, primarily revolves around the robe-and-shorts combinations in which boxers walk out to the ring before making combat history. These pieces are inspired, for example, by 1950s photographs of US heavyweight boxing champion Rocky Marciano, Muhammad Ali’s Rumble in the Jungle and De Niro’s award-winning portrayal of Jake LaMotta in Raging Bull. There are 100 per cent silk champ-robes with “Hollywood Authentic” embroidered on the back, which appear alongside matching silk boxer shorts. Complementing their counterparts in the women’s collection, the long-sleeved silk pyjama sets here also come in black and oyster colourways, in this case with contrasting piping detail.

Hollywood Authentic was founded by photographer Greg Williams, who is known for capturing Tinseltown and its legends in the making both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, elucidating a universe that is often as glamorous as those depicted by the feature films in which those celebrities star. For this campaign, actress and singer Clara Rugaard and actor James Cusati-Moyer have been captured sporting the silk sleepwear collection, as seen here.
