Hip to be square: Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum

A contemporary Bell & Ross design gets a bold new skeletonised look with glow-in-the-dark details

Launched in 2019, the BR 05 combines some of Bell & Ross’s most distinctive design signatures into a stylish and resilient timepiece befitting of the brand’s rugged collections. Featuring an unusual round-in-a-square silhouette, it brings together a graphic, contemporary aesthetic with utilitarian features, including a comfortable, ergonomic fit and an ultra-legible dial.

The latter has been enhanced even further with the latest addition to the line, the BR 05 Skeleton Nightlum. Here the dial has been painstakingly openworked to reveal the powerful BR-CAL 322 movement, decorated to striking effect using black PVD. It becomes even more impressive as night falls and its luminous properties are showcased in all their glory.

The skeletonised indices and hands have been filled with green-emitting Super-LumiNova C5, specially chosen for its hue, which is pale in normal daylight yet offers an exceptional quality of brightness in darker conditions. It provides a bold contrast to the black dial, a colour that nods to the precision timekeeping instruments found in the cockpits of planes, used to eliminate glare. The contemporary design comes presented on an integrated metal bracelet, as well as a practical rubber option for a more sporty look.
