GH Bass joins forces with Vilebrequin

GH Bass and Vilebrequin unite for a limited-edition footwear collection that blends artisanal precision with Riviera-inspired ease

American footwear company GH Bass and French swimwear brand Vilebrequin have come together to create a capsule collection that marries timeless utility with coastal sophistication. The collaboration introduces two standout footwear designs – the Hampton boater and the Winston mule – ready to take you effortlessly from beachside walks to evening outings.

At first glance, this partnership might seem unlikely: a Maine-born heritage shoemaker teaming up with a brand that epitomises the sun-soaked glamour of St Tropez. But beneath the surface, both brands share an obsessive dedication to detail and longevity, resulting in footwear that transcends trends.

Every pair is handsewn from premium nubuck leather, a material known for its soft, velvety texture and durability. Each shoe features a full leather lining and shaped arch support, a hallmark of GH Bass’s shoemaking precision. The insoles are fitted with 5MM EVA comfort foam, providing all-day wearability without sacrificing silhouette or structure. Add to that high-performance Vibram rubber soles – designed for optimal grip on city streets or coastal paths – and you’ve got a shoe built to last, wherever your journey leads.

Men Winston Weejuns Mule, £230

The Hampton boater, priced at £250, is a nautical nod reimagined for the modern wardrobe. Its deep navy hue and classic profile make it a versatile staple for any wardrobe. The Winston mule, at £230, exudes laid-back refinement with its open-back design, ideal for slipping on after a seaside swim or before heading out for an aperitif.

However, what truly propels this collaboration is the shared philosophy between the brands. GH Bass, founded in 1876, has long stood for purpose-driven footwear, made with integrity and meant to endure.

Vilebrequin, meanwhile, has spent over 50 years perfecting the art of beach living – bringing elegance, humour and a commitment to sustainability to its collections. Its swimming trunks have become synonymous with a luxury holiday lifestyle, but the brand’s mission now looks toward the future: creating high-quality garments that last, that can be repaired, reused and loved over time.

In this limited-edition footwear capsule, craftsmanship isn’t just a feature – it’s the foundation. It’s about shoes made not just for a season, but for a way of life. The GH Bass x Vilebrequin collection offers a refined reminder that true luxury lies in the details.

The G.H.BASS x Vilebrequin collection is available at vilebrequin.com and in-store
