Blancpain adds to its classic Villeret line with two elegant blue-hued timepieces

Villeret, one of Blancpain’s most traditional and refined family of timepieces, fittingly takes its name from the esteemed company’s birthplace, where an entrepreneurial Jehan-Jacques Blancpain registered himself as a watchmaker in the village records in 1735. This year sees two eye-catching new additions to the line that combine a midnight blue dial with red gold case for the first time, blending the contemporary and the classic.

The first is the elegant and simple Villeret Ultraplate, which presents this new colour in a refined three-hand watch with subtle date window positioned at 3 o’clock. It is driven by the self-winding 1151 movement, guaranteeing a four-day power reserve.

Meanwhile the Villeret Quantième Complet is a showcase of Blancpain’s expertise in complications, combining a moon phase and complete calendar. It is powered by the 6654 movement, which is equipped with a safety system meaning that the calendar can be set at any time without any risk to the movement. Further protecting the watch is a patented system of under-lug correctors, enabling all the information to be adjusted at the press of the finger, eliminating the need for a pusher tool. A subtle playfulness comes through in the watches design, which is finished with a mischievous-looking moon that sits at 6 o’clock.
