Cosy up with the return of the independent wine bar and kitchen’s fun and indulgent Fondue Festival

What better way to stave off autumnal chills than indulging in the ultimate winter comfort food, fondue? The Covent Garden outpost of the beloved wine bar and restaurant 28°-50°, which has sister sites in Chelsea, South Kensington and Marylebone, will be warming Londoners’ cockles for the next six weeks with the return of its popular Fondue Festival. Every Tuesday diners can enjoy a traditional fondue Savoyarde experience with specially selected cheese and wine from the French Alps region of Savoie, where 28°-50°’s vineyard and chateau are located. Savoie is where fondue originated so 28°-50° is the perfect place to experience this dish in its most authentic and delicious expression.

The Fondue Festival offers a three-course menu of a walnut salad to start, followed by a charcuterie platter, cheese fondue with bread and potatoes, and a chocolate mousse to finish served with a delicious glass of Kir. The fondue is made with the classic cheeses of Comté, Beaufort and Abondance combined with white wine, kirsch and plenty of garlic. Naturally, the restaurant can recommend the perfect wines to accompany your evening to complete the fondue Savoyarde experience and leave you feeling suitably Alpine and indulged.

The Fondue Festival runs every Tuesday for six weeks from 12 October, tickets are £46.95 per person and must be booked in advance; 2850coventgarden.co.uk
