Hublot’s first online exclusive comes in the form of a sleek and modern titanium take on the Big Bang Unico

Ironically for an industry based around time, the world of horology is often one of the slowest to adopt new technologies. No more so is this true than for ecommerce. While the pandemic expedited the need for watch brands to sell their wares online without the need to visit a boutique in person, there remains a handful of holdouts who have been sluggish – or unwilling – to adapt. As a brand often at the cutting edge this cannot be said for Hublot, however, as evidenced by its latest release, the first to be available exclusively at hublot.com.

The Big Bang Unico Essential Grey is produced in just 200 pieces, with the mode of sale allowing collectors around the world equal opportunity to get their hands on this limited edition. Building on the industrial feel of the Big Bang design, it comes with a satin-finished titanium case, not only lending a unique look but bringing lightweight properties that ensure it wears comfortably on the wrist considering its 42mm size.

At its heart is some of Hublot’s best in-house timekeeping in the form of the HUB1280 calibre, offering a 72-hour power reserve. Meanwhile, its impactful look can be dialled up or down thanks to the strap choices, including a grey fabric option and sportier rubber design, easily switchable because of Hublot’s effortless One-Click system.
