A. Lange & Söhne brings giant German horology to Harrods

German watch manufacturer A. Lange & Söhne has brought a touch of Geneva to the Harrods Fine Watch Room. Until 24 September, the space will be showcasing some of the brand’s recent icons, including the new Odysseus Chronograph, in an exhibition that aims to highlight A. Lange & Söhne’s ability to keep breaking interesting horological ground in unexpected and boundary-pushing ways.

Following its appearance at this spring’s Watches and Wonders watch fair, a giant five-metre-tall working replica of the Odysseus Chronograph takes centre stage in the Fine Watch Department, cradled by the sweeping marble staircase. All details on the reproduction are meticulously matched to its normal-sized companion, to be enjoyed on a much larger scale; its open caseback, visible from the staircase, allows for an extensive look into the fine mechanics of the brand’s latest release and reminds watch connoisseurs of A. Lange & Söhne’s high quality and innovation.

Other timepieces revealed in Geneva in March are on show outside the brand’s Harrods’ boutique. These includes previous models of the Odysseus, as well as novelties such as the latest Zeitwerk, a second generation of A. Lange & Söhne’s digital watch with a mechanical heart, and a redesigned Grand Lange 1. New novelties, recently unveiled in July, are on show too, rounding off A. Lange & Söhne’s showcase of watchmaking ingenuity.

Speaking about the new exhibition, CEO Wilhelm Schmid notes, ‘As a watch manufacture always striving for excellence and perfection, we are proud to present our Watches and Wonders masterpieces with Harrods. This exclusive exhibition marks yet another significant milestone in our long-standing partnership and highlights our joint commitment to the highest watchmaking art.’
