Along for the ride: the Slow Cyclist

The Slow Cyclist’s new journey in Zagori, Greece is the perfect balance of active and restorative

For travellers keen to explore the scenic landscape of Zagori – a remote corner of the Epirus region in northwestern Greece – at a leisurely pace, the Slow Cyclist’s new five-night journey to the Pindus mountains is a relaxing way to take in the views.

By day, cyclists will travel along quiet tarmac roads winding between mountain villages, gorges, forests and high pastures, while in the evening, guests will enjoy local hospitality in traditional guesthouses.

Daily cycles range from 15km to 37km with interwoven walks along ancient mule tracks, swims in waterfalls and crystal-clear rivers, and visits to monasteries on a journey that digs deep into the landscape, history and culture of this forgotten area of Greece.

From £1,600 per person for five nights. Groups can include up to 12 guests; theslowcyclist.co.uk
