Chaumet presents a sophisticated new jewellery watch inspired by its historical home, the Place Vendôme

Few destinations have as storied a history as Place Vendôme in Paris. Once home to some of the most influential figures in high society, now some of the most esteemed names in luxury line the chic square. Among the longest-standing is Chaumet, the first jeweller to take residence in 1812, first at number 15 (now the Ritz Paris), later moving to number 12 from 1907. More than a century on, the maison still operates out of the impressive building, its boutique paying tribute to both the legacy of this famous destination as well as its own rich heritage as one of France’s oldest and most prestigious jewellers.

At the heart of the square lies the Vendôme Column, its imposing form defined by its silhouette that elegantly sweeps its way into the sky. The maison has celebrated this important and distinctive design with the Torsade de Chaumet, a dazzling array of jewellery encapsulating the dynamism and energy of this twisted motif.

At the heart of the collection is a striking high jewellery timepiece, which utilises the sweeping design to delicately weave itself around the wrist. The stunning full pavé miniature dial features 133 brilliant-cut diamonds. The effect is completed with the addition of a larger index diamond at 12 o’clock, which draws the eye, while the white-gold case is set with a further 80 diamonds. These taper fluidly into the bracelet, with its complex interwoven elements recalling the very finest of haute couture gowns and a true artisan showcase of Chaumet’s centuries of expertise.
