The celebrated restaurant group is opening a glamorous outpost in the Newfoundland building with superlative Provençal cooking and interiors inspired by vintage yachts

Known for its exquisite cuts of Wagyu beef, raw bars and extensive and exciting wine lists, M Restaurants has attracted the great, good and hungry to its restaurants since 2014. Now the group, which already has restaurants in the City on Threadneedle Street and on Victoria Street in Westminster, has just opened a stylish new venue in Canary Wharf.

M Canary Wharf is a 10,000sq ft venue in the Newfoundland building, the seventh-tallest building in the UK. The 180-cover restaurant has taken over the ground and first floors of the building with views over the Thames and waterways of Canary Wharf and a René Decker-designed interior inspired by the vintage yachts dotting the coast of the French Riviera.

The menu has been designed by M culinary director Mike Reid and brings the signature dishes of the group to the Canary Wharf restaurant, including the finest cuts of Wagyu and Kobe beef, as well as dishes inspired by Provence using an abundance of olives, peaches, artichokes, tomatoes, lemons and herbs including a delicious cut of seabass with garlic, herbs and lemon.

M Restaurants has an established dedication to sustainability and works with the best sustainable and ethical producers around the world. At M Canary Wharf, it is working closely with Crate To Plate, a hydroponics farm found just minutes away from the restaurant, and will have a menu of “Sustainable Serves” including the wines of Provence’s Maison Mirabeau, a winemaker focused on supporting biodiversity and combating climate change.

Celebrating the Riviera theme, M Canary Wharf will host a weekly St Tropez beach brunch with DJs, while other special events include a sensory meal matching sound to the way food looks and tastes and Sunday movie screenings, all in partnership with Bang & Olufsen, which provides the restaurant’s top-notch audio-visual equipment.

With a restaurant, bar, private dining room, café, member’s lounge and terrace, M Canary Wharf is set to be a focus for socialising and fine dining in the area, and part of the movement that is increasingly making the Isle of Dogs a fine dining destination for all Londoners.
