Bremont introduces a stylish steel jumping hour montre à guichet
A year after unveiling the bronze Terra Nova Jumping Hour, British watchmaker Bremont has returned to the collection with a new version in steel. The 38mm model refines the concept of the montre à guichet – or window – which displays the time through apertures rather than traditional hands, with a contemporary-looking design.
Introduced in 2024, the Terra Nova line reinterprets early-20th-century military pocket watches, characterised by its geometric cushion-shaped case, low profile and shortened lugs. The new model, crafted from polished and brushed 904L steel for strength and corrosion resistance, retains that utilitarian spirit while introducing a sleeker, more refined presence on the wrist.
At its core lies the automatic calibre BC634, developed in partnership with Swiss movement-manufacturer Sellita. The movement delivers a sharp, instantaneous jump of the hour disc in under a 10th of a second, demonstrating the precision of its engineering. The display is minimal yet distinctive: three apertures reveal the hours, minutes and central running seconds, the latter designed in the shape of a compass needle – a reference to the brand’s long-standing association with exploration.

The dial design follows the pared-back aesthetic of the montre à guichet, with brown numerals printed on the hour and minute discs. The caseback is decorated 904L steel, and the model is offered on either a quick-release 904L steel bracelet or a brown nubuck leather strap with cream box stitching. Despite its slim profile, the new Terra Nova upholds Bremont’s reputation for durability, with 30m of water resistance.
‘When we first launched the Terra Nova Jumping Hour in bronze, the response was phenomenal – it sold out very quickly,’ says Davide Cerrato, who has been Bremont’s CEO since 2023. ‘It confirmed for us that our clients are not only hungry for more intriguing complications, but also for bold design statements. We know this watch has the potential to become a future icon, standing alongside the Altitude MB. In this regard, we’re proud to introduce its second iteration, crafted in 904L steel and not limited. It’s as robust as any Bremont, and makes a bold style statement.’
To accompany the launch, Bremont introduces two British ambassadors who jointly reflect the dual character of the watch. Savile Row tailor Kouadio Amany represents its creative, design-led side, while Michelin-starred chef Tomos Parry, known for his mastery of open-fire cooking, embodies the watch’s precision and discipline. Together, they encapsulate the Terra Nova Jumping Hour’s balance of craftsmanship, functionality and modern British style.
