The Weekend Lunch Rodizio Experience at Fazenda Bishopsgate

This carnivorous feast carved at the table in true South American rodízio style is available every weekend lunchtime right in the heart of the Square Mile

At Fazenda Bishopsgate, Londoners can ditch their equanimity in the face of this summer’s incessant rain, now more so than ever. For the South American restaurant has launched a Weekend Lunch Rodizio Experience that heightens diners’ sense of being transported to the Pampas of Argentina and Brazil.

The culinary journey comprises a selection of eight freshly grilled meats carved at the table in authentic rodízio style, including picanha (beef prime top sirloin), chorizo de Wagyu (Wagyu beef spicy sausage), lombo trufado (truffled pork tenderloin) and abacaxi grelhado (roasted pineapple with cinnamon). Those partaking may add to these dishes traditional tapas and salads offered by the restaurant’s Market Table.

In addition to the Weekend Lunch Rodizio Experience, there are also delicious starters available to order. Devised by executive chef Francisco Martinez on recent trips to Brazil and Argentina, these include gamba Patagónica (giant king prawn, spicy chimichurri) and caviar e churros (Cornish Baeri caviar, churros, crème fraîche). 

The restaurant’s wine list is as extensive as the carnivorous helpings are generous and includes the finest Argentinian, Brazilian, Chilean and Uruguayan wines. Guests can explore the continent through notes pinpointing the different appellations and the flavour profiles they typically generate.

The restaurant’s standalone bar, Fino, serves signature cocktails curated by bar manager Michela Castiglione. They consist of 14 creative twists on classics, including two virgin options, alongside small plates and sandwiches. We recommend the “religious leader” (a holy alliance of Pampelle grapefruit aperitif, Branca Menta, watermelon and Chandon Brut sparkling wine) and the “Tupian villager” (a mix of Yaguara Organic Cachaça, Avallen Calvados, Fair Kumquat liqueur, sumac and Mediterranean herbs).

Fazenda Bishopsgate was designed by Carroll Design to resemble a classy Latin American bar. The space is replete with sophisticated fixtures and furnishings – intricate walnut wall finishes, Bardiglio Nuvolato marble, custom Italian leather seating, and chandeliers resembling bunches of grapes.

The Weekend Lunch Rodizio Experience is available every Saturday and Sunday for reservations between 12pm to 3pm and is priced at £35 per adult.
